GO BEYOND THE SHOW - FROST/NIXON EXTRAS
THE BREAKING OF RICHARD NIXON - a lecture by James Reston, Jr.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2008, 2:00 p.m.
James Reston, Jr., author of The Conviction of Richard Nixon, will describe his role as David Frost's Watergate advisor during the famous 1977 Frost/Nixon interviews. He will show how Nixon was trapped and cornered and finally forced to acknowledge his high crimes and misdemeanors. Mr. Reston will screen and reflect on riveting high points of the 1977 Watergate interviews, and will also address the metaphor of the play as it subtly links demise and exile of Richard Nixon to the coming situation of the Bush post-presidency. Mr. Reston's book will be available for purchase and signing.
